How to connect your MT4 account with the Tradeworks trade automation platform

Tradeworks is a broker-neutral trading software developer that works solely for you - the individual trader. Our trading tool runs as an add-on to the MT4 platform and therefore you need to connect your MT4 account with your Tradeworks account before you start trading. Any automated trades generated from the Tradeworks trading platform will subsequently be executed in your nominated MT4 account (live or demo).

Connecting your MT4 account (demo or live) to your Tradeworks account takes less than a minute and involves just a few easy steps.

You will need the following Metatrader 4 account details to be able to connect your account to Tradeworks:

  • Your MT4 account name
  • Your MT4 account password
  • Your MT4 server


  1. Log on to your Tradeworks account go to My Account and click on Add Trading account.

  2. Name the account (e.g. my MT4 demo account) and select the broker of your MT4 account (please email if you can't find your broker).

  3. Select server of your MT4 account.

  4. Enter your personal username and password for the MT4 that you are adding.  

  5. Finally please tick the box to approve the Terms and Conditions and click on Save Trading Account. 


Your broker will now verfy your account details. This may take up to 30 seconds. Once done your trading account will be shown as Verified.

That's it! You are now ready to create your first winning automated trading startegy with Tradeworks.

If you cannot find your broker, or if you can, but the MT4 server is missing, just send us a message via the Feedback link.



Problems when adding / activating your Trading Account

When you add your trading account we attempt to connect, to verify the information is correct. Some brokers take longer to form the connection, and this can result in a time out. To resolve this, try the following:

  1. Try re-adding your account in 5 minutes.
  2. Log out and log back in, and try again.
  3. Should this still not work, please contact Tradeworks Support, via the Feedback link. Please provide details of which broker and server you were trying to add.
